Croatan Presbyterian Church
Croatan Presbyterian is a family of believers, a population of ordinary individuals seeking extraordinary lives in and through Jesus Christ. We strive to worship Him with every aspect of our lives as we engage our community and its culture, as we laugh and eat good food with friends, and as we serve each other, our city and our Savior.
We want you to experience that with us! If you’re new, we realize that everyone is at a different place in their spiritual journey and we know how uncomfortable churches can feel when you are checking things out for the first time. We hope that Croatan Presbyterian never feels that way to you, so if you’re new to Croatan Presbyterian and plan to visit on Sunday, please read the information below to learn more about our fellowship.
We invite you to worship with us on Sundays. For an hour or for a lifetime, come worship with us, grow with us, connect with us and serve with us.

Be Our Guest!
Croatan Presbyterian Church offers a broad range of ministries and programs for all age groups. If you live or are visiting in the New Bern area and are looking for a church to attend, we invite you to stop by and worship with us. Our Sunday Worship Service is at 11 a.m. If you would like to know more about any of our ministries, missions or educational opportunities please call the church office.
How long are the services? All of the services typically last about an hour.
When do I need to arrive? Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes prior to the start of the service.
How should I dress? Come as you are. You will be welcome!
What should I bring? Some people bring a Bible but this is not a requirement.
Do I have to be a member of Croatan Presbyterian to take Communion? All who acknowledge Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior are welcome to take Communion.
When is The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper celebrated? The first Sunday of the month and at special evening services held on Maundy Thursday (Thursday before Easter) and on Christmas Eve.
Where do my children go during worship? During worship there is a nursery for ages 0-3. Four and five year olds stay in the service until after the children’s message and then they dismiss for Children's Church, which ends at the conclusion of the church service. All other children are encouraged to remain in the worship service with their parents. We believe that children learn to worship by participating in the service.
Church Dinners: Except for fifth Sundays, Easter Sunday, the Sunday after Christmas and Mother’s Day, the congregation joins for a meal following Sunday worship. On the first Sunday of the month, the meal is pot luck. On the other Sundays, one of six meal teams made up of church members provides the meal. All are welcome. Here is a direct link to the meal team schedule through the end of 2017.
More information about Baptisms: Baptism is offered during morning worship when a new child is born among us and when a non-baptized person unites with the congregation. Infant and adult baptisms are scheduled during the year. Call the church office (252) 637-3394 to schedule a baptism.
Worship information for the disabled: The Croatan Presbyterian Church sanctuary is equipped for wheelchair seating. Handicapped parking and wheelchair access to the sanctuary is available in the back.
How to become a member of Croatan Presbyterian Church: If you are interested in becoming a member of Croatan Presbyterian Church, here’s how--share your interest with the Pastor or one of our elders, or check the appropriate box on the Member/Guest Registry form located on the each pew in the sanctuary. If you have never confessed your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior, we encourage you to prayerfully make a commitment of your life to serve Him. Following your commitment to Christ, a time for your baptism will be set with the Pastor. Each candidate for church membership is invited to attend a private meeting with the pastor. Following the meeting, new member candidates are welcomed into the membership by the Session and then introduced to the congregation during a morning worship service so that our church family may celebrate your decision and welcome you as a new member. If you would like to talk with the Pastor or one of our elders about becoming a member or making your commitment to Christ, please feel free to call the church office at (252) 637-3394 to set a time for your visit.
